There is just something magical about the Christmas tree. They are so wonderfully warm and beautiful. Their branches adorn with an array of well-chosen ornaments. Ornaments that may each possess their own special memory or meaning. We gaze upon these special ornaments with nostalgia and remember all that we have associated with each unique piece. The Christmas tree is like the heart of Christmas. We gather around the Christmas tree with our family and admire it’s glowing charm and majestic beauty.
For my family, when the Christmas tree goes up, the Christmas season has officially begun! My kids get so excited when we put up the tree. Now, it’s a tradition for us to set the tree up right after Thanksgiving.
However, we used to get a real tree, and we ended up not getting our tree until the first week of December, in order to make sure the tree lasted through Christmas. The experience of taking the trips to go pick out our Christmas tree was always a fun. But a few years ago I had decided that I’d like to be able to set up the tree earlier and leave it up longer! I also really wanted a flocked tree and most of the time you can’t really find real trees that are flocked.
That’s when I decided to buy an artificial flocked Christmas tree. I went with a 9 foot pre-lit slim king flocked from King of Christmas. I went with the 9 foot because of our tall ceiling in the living room, but I wanted slim because we had very little space in the corner between the fireplace and the end of our couch. It is perfect. It’s the best-looking artificial Christmas tree I’ve ever seen. Really, this tree is gorgeous!
So, I thought I would share and provide my review of this gorgeous Christmas tree in hopes that perhaps it might help someone out there who might be on the fence in buying one for themselves. Here is my beautiful King of Christmas tree review.
It’s Very Realistic
The branches and the branch tips on this tree are very realistic. The pine needles look like the pine needles on a real noble fir. They are also just the right amount of density, so the tree looks nice and full. One thing I cannot stand, that I see on sooo many artificial Christmas trees, is when you can see the pole at the center of the tree through the branches. It just screams fake tree to me. I cannot see the pole on this tree, it is that full. It’s lovely.
The Lights Are Perfect
The tree that I chose, I believe has 900 warm LED lights. They have the most perfect amber glow. There were other trees I saw that featured “white LED lights” but they tend to have a blueish cast, which feels too cold for me. I really love the warm whites that you would find on the old-fashioned incandescents, but we know that these are no longer very safe or energy-efficient. So I LOVE that the LED lights on my tree are so warm and pretty.
These LED lights are also very easy on the eyes. They are bright but not so much that they hurt the eyes. I know for some people, the lights may not bother their eyes, but for me and people like my Mom, certain LED lights are so bright and “piercing” almost.
Easy to Set Up
I love that this tree is so darn easy to set up. I can actually do it by myself. The tree comes in three sections that are clearly labeled, so that you know which piece goes first. All you have do is set up the X-shaped stand, grab a hold of the first section, and place into the stand. Then you simply add the next two sections, one at a time, by placing on the connector and then lining up the arrows. However, before I place the other two sections on, I like to “fluff” the bottom.
By fluff, I mean opening up and spreading out the branches. When you first take the tree out of it’s packaging or storage bag, the branches might be a little misshapen and need to be re-shaped or fluffed.
It’s just so much easier to fluff as you go, without having the next set of branches in the way. The branches are hinged, so in storage they are pointing up. As you fluff the tree, you can pull each branch down into its proper position.
Branches Are Sturdy
One of the most important qualities of a Christmas tree is sturdy branches. There has to be enough rigidity to the branches in order to hold those precious ornaments. I love that I can hang all of my ornaments on this tree without any drooping limbs. I hang A LOT of ornaments on this tree and some of them are pretty hefty!
Flocking is Excellent
The flocking on this tree is amazing because it is very well done. Now, of course you’re always going to have some shedding as you fluff the tree, this is normal. Just make sure you wear a long sleeves that you don’t care about as you fluff because it gets messy and prickly!
“I’ve had my tree for about 4 years and the flocking still looks the way it did when I first got it.”
But really, once you’re done fluffing, that’s it. It doesn’t shed anymore flocking. I’ve had my tree for about 4 years and the flocking still looks the way it did when I first got it. This tree has the perfect amount of flocking too. There aren’t any bare spots or places where it’s gobbed on super thick. It looks as though it was dusted with a fresh coat of snow during a winter storm.
Conclusion
As I have said, this Christmas tree is gorgeous and I’m elated that I decided to go with this tree. I am thrilled every year to set up our Christmas tree and admire its beauty. Not only is it the perfect size for my space, but it has everything I was looking for in an artificial Christmas tree:
